Well the clouds threatened, and at one point I felt a few sprinkles in the evening, but this spring wedding south of Perth managed to stay dry for Ashleigh and Richard. The wedding was held all in one place, which I love, at Rustic Rivergum Retreat in Mardella, near Jarrahdale.
This property is new to weddings and it's great if you're having a DIY day as you have such freedom to do whatever suits the style you are aiming for. Ashleigh (and her team!) set up the aisle of the ceremony with an arbor and paper lanterns. It was lovely :) Beautiful light came through the back of the property in the late afternoon and we utilised the fields and grasses in the light for portraits.
A marquee had been set up at the front of the property and with paella (Simply Paella); pizza (Porta Pizza); and a drinks van (Hoffman Mobile Bar) complete with icy poles; and a stunning cake by My Petite Sweets, the guests had a raucous time. Lawn games (Perth Garden Games) were available for waiting guests with canapés by Platters Catering and Events. The pizza table was attacked by guest vultures every time a new pizza was laid out haha! As I was leaving, Joey's Icecream van arrived for more sweets!
A fabulous evening with lots of mingling, great speeches, laughing and dancing ensued.
All the best you two. Cutest couple of the year award goes to you xx
