Thanks for popping by...I'd love to be a part of your special day! I'm fairly non-traditional and believe a wedding should be about showing your love and commitment for each other with your nearest and dearest, as well as an excuse for an awesome party! I'm a bit of a sook so I'll often be biting my lip or smashing my face up against my camera during emotional speeches, beautiful songs, or special moments with the grandies. I'm up for anything out of the ordinary - do it your way I say - and I'm especially excited if it involves a bit of an adventurous spirit!
I know I am totally biased but I think your wedding photography is super important, and the older I get (especially now I'm a mum), I realise how precious it is to have photos of those that you love more than anything else in the world. That's all you have at the end of the day: memories. It's important to me to photograph real connection, the rawness, the emotion because that's what represents you and the love you have for your family and friends.
Here's a few of my favourite things in no particular order...
I love running. It quietens the mind, which in my case, always seems to be racing! I'm a long distance runner and love running marathons and ultra marathons on the trails
Camping and getting back to nature with my boys! We've been around Australia, camped all around WA, travelled overseas. Travelling is such a big part of my life and sharing that with my kids is the best thing ever! I hope it continues into their adulthood.
Animals. I have a cat, Mishka, and two guinea pigs, Rover and Poggie. My beautiful doggie Wiggy unfortunately passed away at the age of 14 but he was our best bud. I hope we get another dogstar in the next few years.
Adventure! I'm a rock climber and although it keeps me fit in the gym, I love getting outdoors on real rock and hope to climb in Europe and the US in the next few years :) Wanna have a wedding on a hike up a mountain? I'm your person. Let's get out into nature.
The artist gene seems to run in my family - photography, tapestry, patchwork, sewing, painting...you name it. It's just a matter of time before I learn how to knit I think.
Music is life.
No hang on, food is life.
No, no wait. Coffee is life. All of the above.
We emigrated from the UK many moons ago and most of my family (including my mum!) lives in beautiful South Wales, near Pembroke. It always feels like my second home when I go back.
I have been involved with the visual side of the arts since high school. I'm a qualified Media and Photography teacher and I was a Film and TV Editor for 8 years. Stills and films are my thing, they always will be.
I love couples who are fun, unique, madly in love and excited about their wedding - for me the best part is watching the connection between my clients, as well as their guests and family members. I really do strive to capture those little moments that you don't even know are happening. Of course I still get the family portraits and gorgeous relaxed photos of you and your betrothed, but those little quirky, funny, heart-warming and joyful moments are what makes me excited!
